Your experience begins with an introduction to olive cultivation in Crete and the journey of olive oil from the tree to the bottle.
You will then take part in a guided tasting of selected extra virgin olive oils, exploring their aromas, flavours and sensory characteristics.
The experience continues around the table, with a selection of traditional Cretan flavours prepared with our own olive oil, offering a taste of local food culture and family hospitality.
When production is in operation, the experience may also include a visit to our olive oil bottling facility, giving you a closer look at the work behind our products.

About

Mourello is a family-owned olive oil business based in Kritsa, a traditional village in Eastern Crete.
We cultivate our own olive groves and operate our own olive oil bottling facility, allowing us to be closely involved in every stage of production, from the olive grove to the finished bottle.
Our olive oil tasting experiences offer visitors the opportunity to discover extra virgin olive oil beyond its flavour. Through guided tastings, we explore its aromas, sensory characteristics and quality, while sharing the knowledge and experience behind its production.
Each experience offers a different way to get to know Cretan olive oil, in the place where it is grown, produced and bottled.

The chef of the hotel restaurant adviced us to go to Mourello for the best Olive oil of Crete.
We were impressed. The Olive oil tastet delicious. A lovely girl explained everything. Al the bottels were sealed and even brought to our hotel! If you go there true also the honey! And give the little town a visit!

Don’t bother looking anywhere else for where you should go for an olive oil tasting. This was the most authentic and intimate tasting we’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. It was just the two of us and we learned about the process from start to finish, really getting to understand and appreciate what goes into a high quality olive oil. At the end we were treated to delicious Cretan dishes prepared by Elena and her grandmother. A fresh Greek salad with “pink” tomatoes, graviera cheese, dressed olives, fresh baked bread, dakos, and cheese pies. We then got to see where the bottling takes place. This is where we got to appreciate what a true family business looks like, with only 5 “employees” and everyone else coming to help during the harvest season. Hands down the best tasting we’ve had. Look no further, just book your tasting, you won’t regret it.
